Sanctions Screening: Check Names Against OFAC, EU, UK & UN
Screen names against official OFAC, EU, UK and UN sanctions lists — bulk, with match scores.
In plain language.
Screens any name or company against the current OFAC, EU, UK and UN sanctions and watchlists — official sources only.
Every match comes back with a deterministic fuzzy-match score and full detail, so nothing is a black-box yes/no.
Works the same for a single check from a form or a bulk list run overnight.
The same person or company is frequently listed independently by more than one authority. Rather than returning four rows to reconcile by hand, matches are consolidated into a single identity carrying every list it appears on, with the programme and source URL for each.
A bare similarity score is hard to act on, so every result carries a documented verdict and a recommended action. False-positive analysis surfaces mismatching dates of birth, countries, nationalities and identifiers explicitly, so an analyst can see why a high-scoring match is probably the wrong person.
Screening results are written before any audit certificate is generated, so a certificate failure can never cost you the screening work you already paid for. That ordering exists because of a real incident, and it is deliberate.
Coverage differs by shopfront and is stated honestly on each: the Apify Actor screens seven sources including OpenSanctions PEP and watchlist data, while the MCP server screens the five official government lists and says so explicitly rather than implying broader coverage.
Who it's for
- For compliance and risk teams. Screen a new counterparty at onboarding and get a documented CLEAR, REVIEW or ESCALATE verdict with false-positive analysis, instead of four separate list lookups reconciled by hand.
- For finance and accounts payable. Check a payee before releasing a wire, including the crypto wallet address when that is the payment rail, so a blocked party is caught before funds move.
- For operations and procurement. Screen a supplier list before a contract round, then re-screen on a schedule so a supplier who becomes listed after onboarding surfaces on the next check rather than at audit.
- For developers and AI agents. Call it inside a KYC intake or payment-release flow, branch on the verdict, and escalate only REVIEW and ESCALATE to a person.
